Solutions threads search

Sometimes I want to see all the solutions (if any) in Lisp, APL/J/K, or Pascal, etc. For long solution threads, this is a "change page, search, repeat". Would be a "nice to have" feature if we could sort the solution threads by the language stated for the user, e.g. LISP in my case: papadil/USA/LISP. I know that some folks post in other languages which is not their declared/preferred language, so will miss some, that's OK.

Of course if is this more trouble than is worth then will keep the "change page, search, repeat" procedure.

Unfortunately, that's not really an option. Each page of the forum is cached, so it would need to either search those cached pages or perform a new bespoke search based on some criteria. And even if we did that, as you pointed out, not everyone marks their preferred language or sets the language in the post.

I think this highlights a deeper issue, though. Ideally, each post doesn't just drop code, but provides annotations and insights into how the member arrived at their solution. If everyone did that, every post would have value independent of the language. It might then inspire other members to create an implementation in their own language. Otherwise, you're entirely dependent on members using your preferred language to create the most intelligent approaches.
