16/16 in Eulerians performance column

Post by sivakd »

The performance column in the Eulerians is not clear to me. As of this post, after 16 people solved problem 305, the first two entries still show 16 of 16 even though neither of them show up in the fastest 20 table. How can that be? It should be 16 of 17 or 15 of 16. Isn't it?

The script was reporting the number of tables the member appears in out of the maximum any one member was found in. So because those two members at the top appeared in the most scoring tables (16), it gave everyone's performance relative to this maximum. However, I can see it was going to cause confusion so I've changed it now to report the number of tables the member appears in out of the maximum number of possible scoring tables. I hope that is clearer.

Thanks euler. That's much clearer now.

If I may ask, it would also be good to list the maximum possible score (that is, had someone solved all the 22 problems first, what the score would have been) at the top of the table. I first thought there should have been only 20 tables at most, but then realized that the phasing out was based on 10 days and not 1 week. May be introducing a new problem should phase out an older table. Not clear on the need to use 10 days periods.
