Awards Update
There have been some small changes to existing awards and a couple of new awards have been added. In particular there is a new category containing a couple of awards for recognised contributors. A number of previous contributors might have been contacted regarding this. If you feel that you have been missed, please contact contributor@projecteuler.net.
All awards can be viewed under the Awards tab on your Progress page.
In addition to these updates some other changes have been made which may have caused some unintended consequences. Please report any issues here.

Re: Awards Update
Awesome, I see my contributions listed properly. Very cool to see some awards for this, should be nice motivation for more users to come up with + submit problems!

Re: Awards Update
If someone could detail what the changes were that would be great. I have trouble remembering exactly what was before and understanding how everything works now.
Edit: It seems that only 500 people received the Triangle Trophy award but more than 6000 people received the C for Commitment award, why is that?

Re: Awards Update
I got Triangle Trophy by solving a problem today, even though I was already fulfilling the award criteria (I had solved the first 100 problems already).

Re: Awards Update
I received Fibonacci Fever 2 weeks ago, but now it was removed. This a change in Fibonacci Fever reward (12 Fibonacci numbers to 13 Fibonacci numbers). The Trinary Triumph is also changed from 6 to 7, so that was also removed for me. The Triangle Trophy requirement seemed relaxed, but I can't remember how it was before.

Re: Awards Update
Were bonus problems added in this update? What are they? I just see question marks.

Re: Awards Update
So what's the task required to get the "Sicarius Decimator" award? The description, "I see a target. Good hunting, 47", presumably refers to the Hitman video games (Sicarius = assassin in Latin), but every other award makes it clear what's required to achieve the award. This one, not so much.

Re: Awards Update
I think they were added in this update, I've completed two bonus problems so far (not sure if I'm allowed to say how to find them but it's not difficult).thedoctar wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:21 am Were bonus problems added in this update? What are they? I just see question marks.
However I can't access the corresponding forum threads, even though the link is there. I just get an HTTP error 500. Is that intended?

Re: Awards Update
It's certainly not intended. Thank you for reporting it. It should now be working.
By the way, you must be one of the luckiest people on the planet to have unlocked two!

Re: Awards Update
Triangle Trophy used to be to solve the first 25 triangle numbers: 1, 3, 6, ... , 325. Now it's triangle numbers below 100. I simply transferred all those who had earned the old award to the new one, which is far less than the number of people who have solved the first 100 problems, as you pointed out. The other new related award is Square Triangle which is any 36 triangle numbered problems.SAG145 wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 7:43 amIt seems that only 500 people received the Triangle Trophy award but more than 6000 people received the C for Commitment award, why is that?
Any changes to the awards will not automatically synchronise with the numbers who have already in theory unlocked them. Scanning over 1.3 million accounts would be too intensive. Instead we're going to have to allow those numbers to slowly catch up. Synchronisation of existing awards happens every time a member solves a problem or visits the Awards section of their own Progress page.
Not all rewards are awards, but may eventually be awarded.thedoctar wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:21 am Were bonus problems added in this update? What are they? I just see question marks.
Very astute. There are a couple of cryptic nods to my favourite video game of all time. You're right about it being different to the others by not stating precisely what it involves, but I'm sure members will figure it out, even if they've never heard of Hitman or who he worked for.philiplu wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 7:04 am So what's the task required to get the "Sicarius Decimator" award? Re: Awards Update
Yesterday when I solved problem 915, I saw the message "This problem has a difficulty rating of 0%. The highest difficulty rating you have solved remains at 0%." Also, when hovering over the blue i icon, it showed "Problem ID:" without any problems listed. Nothing in my progress page seemed to have been affected.euler wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 7:39 pm In addition to these updates some other changes have been made which may have caused some unintended consequences. Re: Awards Update
Perhaps you may want to revise this policy for some awards. For example, there are 9261 members who received the "Trinary Triumph" award, however at most 179 of which have also solved question 729. It is likely most of them are not active, so if updates only occur when members solve a problem, they will remain on that list forever.euler wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 10:50 pm

Re: Awards Update
Thank you for letting me know. That should now be fixed.shcarecrow wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:49 amYesterday when I solved problem 915, I saw the message "This problem has a difficulty rating of 0%. The highest difficulty rating you have solved remains at 0%."
Good point! I just ran a script to check the solve status of problem 729 for all members who had previously earned Trinary Triumph and remove the award if they haven't solved that problem. We've gone down to only 151 members with that award now. For the same reason I did the same thing for Trecenti Decimator, which was called Decimation II and required solving 1 in 10 for problems 201-300. The new award is 1 in 10 for problems 1-300. This only went down from around 2070 to 2030. The rest of the new awards can at least grow from the ground up now.yoni83 wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 7:05 pmPerhaps you may want to revise this policy for some awards. Re: Awards Update
Hello
I think there's a problem with the forum in the context of the bonus problems.
1. When I tried to edit my post for problem sqrt(13) I got the error message "The page cannot be found or you broke something..."
2. Same exact error happens when I go to "Progress -> Posts -> -002". The link it directs to is - https://projecteuler.net/thread=#436979
Hope this helps,

I just want to express my gratitude for the bonus problems, I greatly enjoyed solving them, and the idea of having secrets/hidden content to discover is very exciting. I hope there will be more of them in the future

Re: Awards Update
Today I solved a problem and I was rewarded with a bonus problem. After that I went straight to the forum to see other people's solutions and then I went to the bonus problems section to check that new problem but I found nothing (just question marks). Is this a bug?

Re: Awards Update
Sorry to tell you, but where it said you had unlocked the bonus problem you had to click the link immediately to properly unlock it or it's an opportunity lost. However, don't worry, it'll happen again.
