Rogue antivirus program wasting sites bandwidth

Basically the antivirus program AVG downloads everything it sees when the user uses a search engine. This has increased some sites bandwidth substantially, increasing cost.
There are some ways to block this antivirus-program, described in the Slashdot comments.
