Hi Project Euler admins,

My account with username liuguangxi has been registered for over ten years. Two days ago, I made my account private accidentally, and then switched to public again. The bad news is that later my username has been found missing from the fastest solvers table of all previously solved problems. I only realized later that it was a change in the PE website's strategy recently.

I would like to know if it's possible to restore my username that was deleted from the previous fastest solvers table? After all, the submission records for each problem corresponding to my account are still kept on the server. Thank you!

I am of the strong opinion that most of the changes made on Project Euler recently were negative to the website. And furthermore I am not sure I understand why Awards and Statistics were ever implemented to begin with. A much much simpler site would be fine.

I think a lot of the changes are due to Unluckytoilet. For example, the highest level only displays 925+, not the actual number of problems solved, to prevent you from bragging about the number of problems you had solved. Especially if you rely on a list of answers.

When I first joined ProjectEuler, there were no friend keys. You can view anyone's profile, and no Fastest Table. You only had to solve at least half of the latest 25 problems to become an Eulerian.

I speculate that the purpose of adding awards and statistics is to catch cheaters. For example, recently there was someone—I won't mention his name—who reached 925+ but didn't even get the High Five award. He was the only one who didn't get a High Five award among the 42 people with 925+. Clearly cheating. As embarrassing as "son of the God".

I can only say that people like Unluckytoilet have changed a lot of things.

Why do you want that others know that you are among the fastest problem solvers?
Is it because you want to show others that you are better than them?
The only thing that one has to know is that he is better at the end than at the beginning.

Perhaps we ought to cease discussing this. Participants often just want to show the world that they can solve the tasks. The point is that some administrators are clearly annoyed by Unlucky as well as LLMs and nobody can verify if Gennady, Kevin, Andrew, Brian, ... are or are not using them. I will edit in further thoughts: Project Euler could try to move to a once per month release schedule with significantly trickier tasks and I would be entertained.
