Sharing Your Solutions Online

Hello,

I know that Project Euler doesn't like us ruining the fun of the problems by sharing their solutions. I do however want to put my solutions online so that I can present them to people by sending them a link. What's the best way of doing this? Private repo? Personal website? If public repo should I not have the title be "Project Euler Solutions"? Should I just include it as miscellaneous code and tell the people I send the link to that these are the solutions to the PE problems?

It's very polite of you to ask. That is not a courtesy normally shown to us. Either that, or we get asked and then they do what they want anyway. As you said, the concern of the Project Euler team, who have invested so much of there time and energy in crafting beautiful problems, is having the problems ruined by allowing solutions to be publicly accessible. So as long as you understand our concerns and you are responsible about how your solutions are accessed then it's up to you. Generally we accept that the first one hundred or so problems have for some time now openly discussed in blogs, videos, and so on. Closing the stable door on that long gone horse is a fools errand. However, if you choose to privately share more recent problems then all we would ask is that you are especially careful in who and how you allow access to your material.

As a puzzle maker myself, I truly admire the amount of effort the Project Euler team expends designing these problems.

Moving forwards, I plan to have my first 100 solutions in a public repo just under a different name (not calling them PE solutions, probably calling them Miscellaneous code).

Any solutions afterwards will be a "available upon request" type thing, being especially careful about who actually receives a copy of the solution.

Hopefully others who want to share their code implement a similar system.
