Because all other statistics only apply to active users, shouldn't the 'solved by' column on the problems page only tell the number of active user that have solved that problem?

Part of the reason for basing statistics on the number of active users is to do with the old scoring system whereby the number of points for each problem was based on the number of people that had solved it: new problems were worth 20 points and as more people solve them they began to lose value. The scoring system was entirely dynamic and it was my pride and joy. However, the number of calculations each time a member viewed the "scores" page was causing too much server load, so much to my dismay it had to be abandoned for the "one point per problem" system we now have.

Whichever system that is being used I felt that the number of people that have ever solved a problem was more interesting on the "problems" page. Whereas, I still felt that it made sense to rank members on active users.

However, I am quite happy to discuss changing this.

what about updating the "scores" page just once every hour? that way it would take less server load, and we could go back to the old and imo better scoring system :)
