Hi Eulers friends,

I have a few ideas for an interesting award.
1. Receive an award if the number of n problems that you solved coincides with your n'th index Euler problem but if you solved > 200 problems . For example if you solved 214 problems and you didn't solve the problem 215, you decide to solve it and it will be your 215'th solved problem = 215-th Euler index problem, than receive this reward.
Basically receive an award if the Euler problem number correspond to your number of solved ones but a limit must be given because it is easy to solve in order the first 100 problems. That will stimulate a little to solve the problems in order.
Could be smaller one too. For problems in between 100-200

Motivating peolpe to solve more problems between 100 and lets's say 500 is indeed a good idea, just because many of these problems are very beautiful and quite a few new problems ideas have been introduced with some of them.
For this reason we already have some awards encourraging solving these like the "Decimation" awards or "CC for Continued Commitment" and "D for Dedication" (Kudos to euler for these great names!).

However, just solving one more specific problem in order to gain your proposed award doesn't seem to add much to that motivation. It's even a little paradox IMO: The more problems a participant has solved from that area, the less the chance will be that that specific problem is still being unsolved, making it harder to reach that award.

Not sure how open the team is to adding new awards, but since the recent website updates, at least the array of awards flows better as the number of awards changes. So here's an idea I've had for a while.

How about an award for solving at least 1 problem in all 20 possible difficulty levels?

I'm a bit ambivalent about this one - since there are so few solvers of the 100% or 95% problems (the most-solved of those is 95% difficulty problem 328 at 321 solvers), it would be aimed at just the most dedicated solvers. But it's certainly a more attainable award than several that are only for the really, really dedicated people, like D for Dedication or Master of the Archives. It seems like something on the way to getting Big Game Hunter. I'm at a point now where the only awards left are either ones I never expect to get (Gold Medal or Chart Topper - I'm not in the top 10 or even 20 when it comes to speed of solving new problems), or ones that I won't get until I'm close to finishing everything. Big Game Hunter is the only one left that is doable without hitting 550 or so solutions.

Like I said, I've been thinking about this idea for a while. Turns out I'd get the new award right away, since a fairly recent problem hit the 90% difficulty level, the only level I was missing at that point. But it might be motivation to some people to push themselves to try some of the harder problems.

We're always open to ideas. Obviously we hope the primary drive is wanting to solve the problems, but when so much lies before members, then awards definitely help focus and provide goals.

I'm on Easter break next week, so I'll have a look at all of the suggestions, discuss them with the team, and see if we are able to add some new interesting awards.

The idea with a trophy for all the difficulty levels solved is very nice.

I've added two related awards:

Difficulty Explorer: Solve at least one problem at ten different difficulty levels
Conquering Difficulties Solve at least one problem at all of the difficulty levels

Thanks, @euler. I really like the idea of the two awards, with one for hitting half the levels. That answers the big reservation I had about my suggested award, which would be too oriented toward those already in the advanced levels.
