Actually the team have been keeping quiet about this, but your question has forced a response. Although some time off yet we're working on a radical new proof surrounding the discovery of a sixth Platonic solid. Obviously we don't want to rush it, but we were planning to go public with it at the beginning of April next year. :wink:
If it doesn't work, you could always use analogs in higher dimensions as the Pentachoron or the Hexacosichoron. You'd just have to find a way to display them in a nice way :D

How about going to other important somewhat symmetrical objects such as the Buckminsterfullerene?

I think the sphere is the best idea.

Think of this: while the number of faces on Platonic solids increases, the solid itself is approaching a sphere.(at least I think...)

Kind of. The icosahedron seems more rounded, but oddly enough:

I've always been partial to the Triacontahedron myself.
Still, a sphere is good.

As a triancontahedron seems to be a zonohedron the term "zonohedron" seems to me a nice and enigmatic enough epitheton for those that have solved 250+problems.
