Cycles from Friday 1 pm (GMT) to Saturday 1 pm in steps of four hours and starts over again.

The membership of Project Euler is spread throughout the globe and probably covers all time zones. The above schedule was adopted in an effort to release problems at a time which would be convenient/inconvenient to all members on a rotation, and aiming for the start of the weekend when more time may be available to work on the new problem.
The release on a Friday 1 pm GMT would thus allow members in far-eastern countries to access a problem during their Friday evening (at the start of their weekend). A release on a Saturday 1 am may be more convenient for members on the American continents, while releasing on a Saturday 11 am would be more advantageous for residents of European countries.

Thank you again for the great site. I look forward to each weekend when a new puzzle will be published.
According to the post above, puzzles are scheduled to be released at the start of the weekend - starting from some time on the Friday to some time of the Saturday. According to the current schedule puzzle are actually released from Saturday 1pm GMT to Sunday 1pm GMT.
Is there a specific reason why the release times were moved from Friday/Saturday to Saturday/Sunday? By the earliest time a puzzles is released - Saturday 1pm - it is already 2pm in South Africa and almost half of my weekend is gone.
Could I suggest that the release times be changed to cover a 48 hour period (rather than 24 hours) - say from Friday 1pm to Sunday 1pm? This way a puzzle would be released at a convenient time for everyone anywhere on the globe to have time to solve the new puzzle on their weekend.
