Joining the Problem Development Team

Post by abcwuhang » Tue Jul 02, 2019 6:42 pm

I'd like to ask how someone can join the problem development team? Is there any information about that? I'm quite interested.

When we are looking for new members of the development team we ask people to join us. That's the reason why there is no information how to apply for joining us.

I see. Thanks. Is there any criterion for a person to be asked to join you, such as recommendation, performance, innovation, etc.?

First of all: to be able to judge if new problems haven't been published already and if new problems fit in PE's profile one should have solved almost all problems.
When we are recruiting team members propose candidates they think might be performing well as team member. The only ground for those assumptions are what we have seen from members, that is: posts in the fora, participation in discussions in the fora, proposals they made and how they reacted to changes the team made to their proposals, whether we think they want to contribute to the different levels of difficulty of our problems, etc.
After the round of proposals we choose a few we invite.
We don't work with outside recommendations or the like. How could someone outside the team judge if someone would be an asset to the team?

Solving almost all problem seems not difficult for me now, since I started my journey from most hardest problems. I don't want to judge people using strong criteria, but I'm only interested in learning knowledge and sharing my ideas with others. Anyway, thanks for your answer and I'll take it easy.

@abcwuhang
Sorry to say that...But I think you have no chance to be a member of the development team even if you "solve almost all problems".

The administrator of P.E. don't like Unlucky's site because Unlucky almost ruins the fun of Projecteuler. However, you are so active and contribute too much in Unlucky's site.

You have the wrong assumption that only you and a few members know Unlucky's site. I bet most members that continue doing recent problems know that site.

@echip
I don't know what you mean by saying 'Unlucky's site'. If you think anything is inappropriate, just tell me instead of saying something ambiguous and making arbitrary judgments or guesses about me.
