Is these statements allowed outside of ProjectEuler?

Post by NASU41 »

I enjoy Project Euler very much, and I want to introduce this to my friends.
When talking about Project Euler, which are allowed(= not talking about "solution")?

- #999 is too easy! Let's try!
- I cannot solve #999 ...
- Brute force is fast enough for #999.

That depends:
If you talk openly with your friends so that others for years to come can follow your discussion you should be more careful than when you talk with your friends on a private channel.

If the discussion is on a public channel I would avoid everything that might serve as a clue.
If the discussion is on a private channel you and your friends can set the rules by yourselves.

What HK said and I would add that between the 3 examples you gave, the first two are completely fine while the 3rd one, spoils the problem.
