how do I get fasm code to work please.

Post by whakamaru »

I am confident that the logic and syntax is valid, but I can't get fasm to compile an executable 32-bit program. Although I did get the solution to PE#5 to run but only by putting it in the example listing USDPMI. And... when I put that program in to a new 64-bit PC, I got a message to say that I should contact the writer to get a proper 32-bit or 64-bit software?
Fasm's examples should help? Alas, no.
The fasm.txt is comprehensive, but I still can't get there. A brief example of non-PE numbers code would help probably.ie, what fasm instructions do I need ie, format ??? entry ??? etc,

You would certainly get more answers to your questions regarding fasm by posting them in the flat assembler forum http://board.flatassembler.net/index.php. I've also moved your post to the Programming languages sub-forum.
When you assume something, you risk being wrong half the time.

thanks...but...
OK, I tried that. Still don't know how to get it to work properly.
Surely there are Euler people who can help?
I would rather be criticised (constructively?) than ignored.
What about using FASM to compile the code, then building a header that works?
I have looked at the header for Windows EXE files. They don't appear to use the Portable format?
