Re: US flag color

Getting new flags is on my to-do list, but in the meantime I've resampled the "blue" from the flag taken on the Wikipedia page for the United States: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States Hopefully this is a more agreeable blue. Keep in mind you may need to refresh your cache to see the new im...

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs

It looks like you were the 48th person to solve that problem and you're currently listed in the fastest solvers table: https://projecteuler.net/fastest=702 The information that told you your position when you first solved the problem is independent of whether or not your account was listed or unlist...

I concur. Very interesting statistics. That's some great work there, LilStalker.

Re: Removing incentive for spoilers

I think you've addressed your own suggestion. There is no need for us to internally implement any system that allows members to unlock the discussion threads without first solving the problem because those sources already exist externally. We fully appreciate that eventually a number of members will...

Re: easier new problems?

Solving problems can be quite addictive and when a mass of "easy" problems lie in-front of you the temptation is to solve the next, solve the next, and so on, until you can't solve any more. Sorry if you've already done this, but there is a mass of learning that can be found in the threads of the pr...

Re: New Preferred Programming Language Requests

Sorry for the very slow replies to these requests. I've added GDScript, Elm, and PureScript. Alas! Visual BASIC is still just BASIC when it comes to solving Project Euler problems and the fundamental paradigm in which it is defined. The Visual element does not add anything different in this respect ...

Re: Error while submitting

Sorry for taking so long to check back. That actually did the trick. No matter. I'm grateful that you did get back and let me know that it's working for you again. It is strange that you never experienced the same problem elsewhere, but it does make me slightly suspect of what that extension is doi...

Re: Error while submitting

@Nacnud: Can I ask... are you able to sign-out? Signing out uses the same token principle as answer submissions and modifying details on your account page, except the hashed token is sent via the URL rather than posting through the HTML form. If you are able to sign-out, then the issue is definitely...

Re: Error while submitting

@Nacnud: Thank you for the very detailed feedback. It'd be good to know what that torrent scanner was doing that would cause the issue. I keep revisiting the code and testing it and I'm unable to reproduce the issue on my local machine in Chrome (or Firefox). In complete desperation, the only other ...

Re: Error while submitting

I really appreciate you taking the time to try thing out, but sadly I'm not getting any closer. I imagine it's also impossible for you to sign out using the Sign Out link in the menu bar too? Those errors you're seeing should only happen if the one-time token is not being validated. It is common pra...

Re: Retrieving Minimal Information

Good spot, pjt33. That information (the answer) is not available now from where the problem data is retrieved, so, as you suggested, I've removed that line from the first post. Thank you for pointing it out.

Re: Error while submitting

Nevertheless, I suppose you would be interested in getting to the bottom of this error. Absolutely, and you certainly should not have to use a different browser. What is confounding me is that when I use the latest version of Chrome, I don't see the error. I can leave the page inactive for twenty m...

Re: Error while submitting

Thanks for getting back. This is growing into a greater mystery. I use Firefox myself, but I test in other browsers and I'm unable to replicate the problem using the same version of Chrome you gave. It is common practice with modern sites to have each page involving a submission generating a hashed ...

Re: Error while submitting

Hi Jevoux, and welcome. This should not happen at all. Did this happen once or has it happened more than once? The answer submission page is using the exact same system that allows you to modify your account details, so if the answer submission is not working, then I imagine you cannot change any of...

Re: Security check gone?

That's very useful feedback. Thank you.

You should not have received a 30 second warning if the page had expired. I've modified the script and that shouldn't happen again.

Re: Security check gone?

Yes, it is quite intentional. Most users will rarely see the CAPTCHA now, but it will appear for a period of time if the system detects unusual patterns.

Re: Publishing the Solution (About-Site)

@nida78: It means a lot to the team when members, like you, recognise how much we value the problems that we have created and what can be gained by first solving the problem for yourself. It is disappointing that a small number of people have chosen to deliberately and thoughtlessly spoil many of th...

Thanks for reporting it. They are both unrelated issues. The pinning/unpinning problem has now been fixed. The accessibility issue to this forum: Open or Save dialogue appearing, is still going on. I have been made aware of it twice in the past two days and I'm waiting for our hosts to get back on t...

I've just tested it in Firefox and Chrome and it accepted the correct answer in both browsers without any issues. If it might spoil something sharing it here and you think you know why it was happening for you, then feel free to send me a PM.

Re: username unknown problem

Not a problem. I just glad you managed to sort it for your own peace of mind.

I'm not sure about why Chrome is doing that. I've noticed it and Firefox doing it with me on different sites and it doesn't seem to be consistent. Perhaps someone reading your post might be able to offer some insights?
