### Re: Problem 039

There is another condition: m and n should have different parity.
The coprime triple that generates (5,12,13) is m=3 and n=2
The other set (m,n) is 5,1: 25+1=26. 25-1=24 and 2*5*1=10 which gives 10,24,26. But because m and n are both odd it's not a valid coprime triple.

### Re: Problem 039

It's not stated that the solutions must be primitive.
In fact none of the given solutions is primitive:
{20,48,52}=4*(5,12,13)
{24,45,51}=3*(8,15,17)
{30,40,50}=10*(3,4,5)

### Re: Is it acceptable if I post some logged-in-users-only informations outside Project Euler sites?

But these information are basically accessible to everyone who only need to provide an email address to create an account...? If people want to read those data they can make an account, can't they? Why copying them elsewhere? No need to do so. And why do you ask if you don't accept the answer No? O...

### Re: Is it acceptable if I post some logged-in-users-only informations outside Project Euler sites?

Logged in users only information is not for nothing logged-in-users-only information.
So the answers seems me to be not OK.

### Re: Number of solvers for the latest 160 problems

Vamsi, I've taken a look at your weblog. Here is something from the entry for problem 1: The solution is pretty elementary; it does not use the formula for the sum of first n terms of an arithmetic progression. This is by-design, I do not want to use any extra fancy-math when an elementary solution ...

The nearest is:

By the way: we think most people start at problem 1.

### Re: Number of solvers for the latest 160 problems

The number of unique solvers in the range [600,750] I don't have. For some other reason I processed the solvers of problems 726 through 747 yesterday. As you know #747 is the most recent problem at the moment. The number of unique solvers with a public account for these problems is 708. That's more ...

You should have got an account recovery key last year in May.
Now you have to find back your password or the code for the 12 problems you solved in May last year.
More help we can't give to you.

### Re: Can Project Euler require users to not post their solutions online?

@hk: Based on your interpretation of what it means to be a member of the Project Euler community, I am definitely not a member of the Project Euler community. Right, you're not any more. Good riddance. @Colin: openBook is an outsider and no member any more. Once he was but he has placed himself out...

### Re: Can Project Euler require users to not post their solutions online?

The thing is simple: Project Euler considers itself a community. Members having a public, unlisted or permanently delisted account are requested not to place solutions online outside PE. If they do place solutions online outside PE they place themselves outside the community, their account is locked...

The official resource is https://projecteuler.info/.
The advantage of this resource is that it is automatically kept up to date by projecteuler.
This means recent problems and their answers, changes in problems and the news section.

### Re: Regarding difficulty for recent problems

The algoritm is a linear regression on the times it took to solve the problem for the first 100 solvers, the difficulty is derived from the slope of that regression scaled to 20 steps. Based on that information you could try to make something that reproduces the difficulty of some rather recent prob...
