Re: Problem 425

I would think of it as a bug than a trick. Usually in situations like this best option is to review code thoroughly and if you have a bruit-force version, compare the results till you get an incorrect result and then debug. Incidentally, I happened to get correct result for 10^3 and 4 but incorrect ...

Re: Contest

The contest ended today. One of our PE members got the perfect score (I don't know if any of the others are on PE). It was fun working on this. I think I need a summer break. I missed 26, 30, 31 and 33 by 1.

Re: Problem 421

Actually, as per viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3161#p33800 euler mentioned that all the answers entered are being persisted. So, it should be possible to accurately get the rankings and solved timings.

Re: New awards.

I thought that may not be an issue because if you see the distribution for most users. My own data is 205 problems have posts (didn't realize till now that I have posted so many), with just 13 kudos (so I need to improve the quality of my posts) and they are distributed as 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1....

Re: New awards.

Nice! Can the problems in the second table be sorted first by number of kudos and then the problem id?

Re: New awards.

I like the idea of having awards to private forum contributors. My suggestions are 1) Have awards for problem contributors. If I understand the process correctly, a problem is proposed to admins who then revise the description, come up with examples, set the limits etc and finally publish it a few m...

Re: Link to the post in the private forum

Euler, one option is to always point to the first page of the forum but display the kudos post first when coming via this link.

Link to the post in the private forum

I noticed that in the progress page there is a list of all the problems for which a person got Kudos for the comments they posted. Clicking on any of these links take us to the private forum of that problem. Is there a way to link it directly to the post that got the kudos? I see that each post in t...

Re: Turn autocomplete back on for answer field

For privacy reasons I don't turn the autocomplete feature for my browser but I did run into the issue of submitting the same incorrect answer again and again. If that happens a few times, I first copy my answer to a file and then enter it into the system. That would keep track of my wrong answers. H...

Re: Contest

Siva D

Open competitions like this are so much different from the type of problems we encounter at Project Euler where there is a known algorithm(s) to get the exact answer.

Re: Contest

How about those who are participating in the context list their name here? It would be fun to track their standings.

Re: Posting solutions outside of Project Euler's site

> or: change a few problems a little bit and check if the answer given equals the answer of the old problem. In that case remove the person from PE. Nothing can be done if the person registers again and continues down the same path, it's just a headache to admins. But at the same time, it might resu...

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs

One more: If you visit http://projecteuler.net/problems;page=9 without a login session, in the past it used to show the problems (but some info was displayed only with a login). Now, it just shows the first problem of the page and that too blank.

Re: Errors/Warnings/Bugs

With the new "competed on" tracking, in the problems page I see the completed on being shown as per user timezone while the "Published on" seems to be per server (or UTC) timezone. Can these both be displayed in the same timezone?

I see that the fastest solvers table for Problem 408 is going beyond the top 50. Does this have impact on the Eulerians score?

Re: Functional requests

I saw that there is an Android app to use Project Euler. I use iPhone and one of the pain points is that I always get a auto-correct suggestion when I type my username to login. Seems by using autocorrect="off" in the input element it can be disabled. Also, can we get to see the red sentence that is...

Please don't post so many intermediate results. It's incorrect from f(6) onwards.
